Description 2 leather dog muzzles used to protect the dogs when rabbits were being poisoned. These came from Flaxbourne Station when it was owned by Major Petre and his wife, Cecily. They were most probably used when 100 rabbiters were employed by Mr. Weld on the original Flaxbourne Station. In 1895 800 bales of wool were shorn, but by 1900, after the rabbits were controlled, 1500 bales of wool were shorn. Each bale weighed 280 pound and they were all rowed out to a ship waiting at sea.
