1 x home made chair using metal screws. It can be seen in the booklet, Riverlands Cob Cottage, published c.1965, pulled up to the sitting room table on page 8. It can also be seen in the sitting room in the photographs taken by Steve Austin in 2006. According to a list of Cob Cottage contents found in an MHS correspondence file between two items for August 1967 & February 1968 (Bay 91/shelf B/Box MHS Corresp.& Balance Files 1967-70/Folder MHS Correspondence Y/E 31/8/1969), there are two home made chairs in the sitting room, one with no donor, the other from Mrs. Collins of Spring Creek. On 23 January 2013 Graham Gibson from Vintage Farm Machinery Society Inc. collected objects from Cob Cottage for the VFM Farm cottage. This chair was one of them and marked as: L - Yellow sticker number 34: A handmade wooden chair. This one uses metal screws (see related for one using dowels). This one probably didn't come from Mrs. Ethel Collins. Her Grandfather, Joe Wratt, made many pieces of family furniture over the years and would have used wooden dowels rather than metal screws. Lent to Marlborough Vintage Farm Machinery Society on 23 January 2013 for their farm cottage.
