Description |
1937 Austin 7 special built as a vintage vehicle. Ron always wanted a vintage sports car, but the expense made that impossible, so he purchased the donor car, then stripped and restored all the running gear. The body was made by Gordy Routledge of Nelson and Ron built the rest. When Gordy was making the body he invited Ron and Shirley to Nelson for a 'fitting', just like when buying a suit, so that they would be comfortable in the car.
It took Ron two and a half years to build and the incentive for finishing was the Austin 7 rally in Nelson commemorating Austin 7s 80th birthday.
The owners are Ron and Shirley Hebberd of Seddon. |
