Date circa 1907
Description This is the "Gem" grater, made of nickeled cast iron, tin and wood by the Caldwell Mfg. Co. Rochester, NY, c. 1907. It has a tin grater plate with an attached nutmeg holder. There's a small presser foot that holds the 'meg' in place while the crank handle is turned. Wooden knobs are in original black paint. The presser foot is marked "PAT. AP'D FOR".
