Description Large Dover egg beater.
Fixed position it screwed onto the table and has a wooden handle.
Patented 9th July 1889.
The first egg beaters appeared in the 1850's and since that time more than a 1000 patents have been awarded for different designs. Dover egg beaters were so popular that at one point the generic term "dovering eggs" was used to describe the egg beating process in recipes.
