Description Metal loop used to cut the neck off a bottle which could then be used as a jar. The round part of the loop was heated the placed onto the bottle. The heat would cause the glass to break cleanly. The two ends of the steel rod loop were used as a handle and clamp to tighten the heated metal onto the glass. Could also be used to hold hot jars while processing preserves.
