Bohally. The Fulton and Pattie Families. : From Albums used by Marjorie Pattie

Photographs copied from three albums used by Marjorie Pattie when she was writing her book on her Family History “Bohally. The Fulton and Pattie Families.” The Fulton’s owned the Bohally Homestead and ran a flax mill there. Christina and Charles Fulton established 2 flax mills, one steam and the other driven by water from the creek running within yards of their back door. As the land was drained and cultivated, productive, golden acres began to spread around the homestead until Bohally, as the Fulton property was named, became one of the richest smaller holdings in Marlborough. They had 12 children, 8 of them girls. Surrounding the house were an orchard, vegetable gardens, walnut trees, tennis courts, rose gardens and arbours. The second storey of the house was devoted to bedrooms. There were 8 bedrooms surrounding a hall big enough for a dance floor.
