A collection of fine period dresses displayed in a mannequin parade at the Church of England garden party in the Vicarage grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Those wearing the costumes are from left; Mrs W. B. Greig, Miss Margaret Wiffen, Mesdames N. J. Parsonson, H. S. Eckford, Miss Judith Pegley, Mesdames G. Pegley, M.L. Anthony, Miss Rosemary Hope, Mrs D. Bell and Miss Christine Grimstone; Sitting; Judith Harvery and Patricia Pegley.
The weather was ideal and more than 200 attended. The party was opened by Mr W. J. Girling C.B.E. Presentations were made to Mrs Girling and Mrs Kirkham. the 12 period dresses dating back as far as 1870, were lent by Nelson and Marlborough people.
