Miss D. Gifford (see neg # 3408) operating the compact modern exchange recently installed at Wairau Hospital. It is about the same size as a table model typewriter, yet handles more lines than the massive cabinet-type exchange, operated by Mr N. D. Scott (see neg # 3409), which it replaces.
