Description:
The harvesting plant at work. The Salt is mechanically lifted and loaded into trucks of the mobile railway which transport it to the stockpile.
The mobile railway system has been used extensively, supported by hopper harvesters introduced a few years ago. The salt crust is two inches thick on an average, compared with three inches in the drought season of 1958-59.
