Small tin which once held breath freshener lozenges. On the back is, "H.R.H. Prince Albert's Chachou Aromatise prepared by Thomas Jackson". On the front is, "Sweeten the breath, refresh the mouth. Albert .....cate.1860(9?)". "Prince Albert Chachou. E.A. Jackson inventor & original proprietor." Prince Alfred Ernest Albert (1844-1900) Duke of Edinburgh made a Royal Visit to New Zealand in 1869 as Captain of the Galatea. He arrived in Wellington 11 April 1869 and left Auckland on 1 June 1869. During that time he sailed to Nelson where he was "Royally entertained, and enjoyed himself with comfortable informality at the races."
