Description |
Elastrator, Wright Stephenson. The elastrators were devices used to apply rubber rings to lambs tails and testicles to cut off the blood supply to remove said bits. The accompanying photograph shows a ring and a mans hand holding a cattle horn presumably removed using this method. The elastrators were made by Wright Stephenson, in Scott Street Blenheim.
Information from photographer Gordon McCusker's index book (see Notes), and from Archives Staff.
