John Alexander Couper [1847-1925], only son of sea Captain Daniel Couper [1819-1907] from the Shetland Islands and his wife Mary Ann nee Byrne [c.1825-1908] originally from Capetown, South Africa. In his horse drawn trap on the Pelorus Road.
