Abstract Telegraphic Message, 7 September 1920.

This was sent in reply to the first letter from Marlborough to Christchurch that had just been delivered by air.

The first letters sent from Marlborough to Christchurch probably left Blenheim, on 4 September, with Captain Euan Dickson.

Captain Euan Dickson took thirty passengers on flights from Kaikoura later that day.

He did not fly the following day, due to bad weather. It was the next day (6 September), when he left Kaikoura for Sockburn, Christchurch, and arrived there one hour and fifty-five minutes later.
