A Piano For The Old Folk. A new arrival, a 56-year-old piano, is proving extremely popular in the women's quarters at the Amersfoote Home. It was donated to the Marlborough Hospital Board for the use of women residents by one of the inmates, Mrs. M.A. Pointon, aged 83. She has owned it since she was 27, and told The Express yesterday that although she would never sell it, she was happy to donate it to the Home for the entertainment of residents. The gift is highly appreciated by the Board, which at its meeting yesterday decided to write a letter to Mrs. Pointon expressing its gratitude Here the donor and the Matron, Mrs. M.R. Lightfoot, listen to Miss K. Meehan play the instrument.
