Fine Set Of Tusks. These fine tusks were taken from a boar shot by Messrs A. Winstanley and V. Logan about six years ago. The boar, which was shot in the upper reaches of the Taylor River, had had its tail eaten off, but even so measured over six feet in length. The tusks, when in the position as photographed measure 19 inches in circumference and six inches in diameter.
These wild pig tusks are mentioned in the "Contents in Cob Cottage" document found between correspondence dated 16/8/1967 and 7/2/1968 in the MHS Correspondence Y/E 31/8/1969 folder, Archives/Bay 91/Shelf B/Box MHS corresp. & balance files 1967-70. |
