Popular Picnic Spot No Longer. This picture tells its own story of the despoliation of what was an attractive and popular picnic and swimming spot of a few years ago. It is a view at Thomson's Ford, a few miles from Blenheim on Thomson's Ford Road, where people have dumped load upon load of rubbish in defiance of a prominently-displayed notice. Although the notice is under the name of the Wairau River Board, which has been absorbed by the Marlborough Catchment Board, it is still in effect and offenders may, as it warns, be prosecuted, |
