Description Image from Negative numbers 245A & 245B, published Thursday November 14, 1957, page 7.

All Lined Up But Nowhere To Go. Lined up at Woodbourne Air Force Station waiting for a purchaser are 19 Mustang aircraft which have been declared surplus by the Air Department. Partly because of the difficulty of obtaining spare parts which are now out of production, they have been withdrawn from service and transferred to the Government Stores Control Board for disposal. They were purchased towards the end of World War 2 and were stored unused at Hobsonville for a number of years. Later they were used by the Territorial Squadrons for training purposes until they were withdrawn from service about 18 months ago.
