Ambitious Plans For Athletic Park. The Marlborough Amateur Athletic, Harrier and Cycling Club aims to complete construction of its pavilion and grandstand at Athletic Park this season and hopes that the banked cycling track will be ready for use next year. Working in conjunction with the Blenheim Borough Council on the development project, the Club has ambitious plans. The pavilion and grandstand building will seat 600 and will incorporate dressing-rooms, a clubroom, showers and conveniences. It is planned to concrete the cycling track, but this will probably not be done for about three years. The arrow in this aerial photograph of Athletic Park indicates the foundations of the grandstand and pavilion building. |
