Built Entirely Without Plans. Started about three months ago and built entirely without plans, this punt will be used by T. Eckford & Co. Ltd., for lightering cargo from the Echo in the event of the vessel being stranded on the Wairau Bar, and also for dredging the river. Powered by a diesel motor, it is being built by Eckfords' staff and should be finished within a few weeks. She was photographed in the water at the foot of' Eckfords' slipway.
