Recipients of Red Cross Awards. For the first time in the history of the Marlborough Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society long-service awards were presented last night. The recipients are shown here after receiving their awards from Captain Charles H. Upham, V.C., and Bar, of Conway, at the National Party Rooms last night. From left to right they are: Back row, Mr G.M. Spence, 30 years (gold badge), Mrs E.J. Harvey, 30 years (gold badge), both from the Blenheim Sub-Centre; Mr H. Watson, 20 years (silver badge), Renwick Sub-Centre; Mrs L.G. Dollar, 20 years (silver badge), Seddon Sub-Centre; Mrs M.H. Hodson, 20 years (silver badge), Blenheim Sub-Centre; Miss J Bell who received the 20 years silver badge on behalf of her sister, Mrs I.M. Adams, and Mrs R. Cameron, 20 years (silver badge), Seddon Sub-Centre. Bottom: Captain Upham congratulates Mr G.M. Spence (right) who received the 30 year gold badge award.
