Description Image from Negative number 226, published in The Marlborough Express, Thursday, November 7, 1957, page 6.

Golf Course Fast Taking Shape. Astonishing progress has been made by members of the Rarangi Golf Club in developing poor scrub country at Rarangi into a golf course. This photograph shows a typical section of the land as it was before breaking-in operations were started. The car in the top left hand corner gives an idea of the height of some of the matagowry bushes. See MEX0.900.0149 for the course as it appears today.
