Description Image from Negative number 219, published in The Marlborough Express, Wednesday November 6, 1957, page 6.

Historic Landmark Demolished. The old Kaituna Accommodation House, thought to be around 100 years old, has been demolished. For 70 years the accommodation house was run by the Green family, and for many years before that it provided a service for travellers, but the opening of the Wairau River Bridge above Renwick in 1913 meant that the hotel was off the beaten track. The special accommodation house liquor licence lapsed two or three years ago. The old house and the 58 acres of land which went with it were sold recently to a Canterbury buyer.
