Description Image from Negative number 195, published in The Marlborough Express Saturday October 26, 1957, page 6.

Extensive River Works At Tua Marina. The line marked on this aerial photograph indicates most of the stopbank at Tua Marina which is being reconstructed by the Marlborough Catchment Board. The work will actually extend another 40 chains north (to the right of the photograph) to the junction of the Tua Marina River and Waterfall Creek. This section is obscured by a spur of Tua Marina Hill. The total length to be reconstructed is two miles and the cost will be 20,000 pounds. At the left is Bown's Bend, which was badly damaged in the April floods.
