Description Image from Negative number 188, published in The Marlborough Express Saturday October 26, 1957, page 6.

Historic Find. This old notice board, found in the Marlborough County Council yard, once stood at one of the landings for the Wairau River ferry which operated up to the turn of the century at the site of the Ferry Bridge. It has been cleaned by Mr. H.W. Watson, of Renwick, who is to hand it over to the Marlborough Historical Society. Listing the ferry charges, the notice board gives an idea of the value of money in those days. A typical item: "Sheep, for the first hundred, per head 1d. For each additional sheep over one hundred, 1/2d.
