Modernised Bowling Pavilion. Marlborough Bowling Club members have almost completely rebuilt the pavilion at their Budge Street green during the winter months. They expect to have the work completed for the opening of the new season on Labour Day. The work had involved the modernising of the old pavilion both inside and out. The main room now has a floor space of over 900 square feet, this being achieved by incorporating the old store room, abolishing the verandah and pushing the front of the building out a further six feet. The kitchen has also been enlarged. Much of the material used for the work was donated, and the women members of the Club have provided venetian blinds, curtains, tables and stools. The whole of the pavilion is lined with attractive wall boards in tasteful colours.
