Description Image from Negative number 167, published in The Marlborough Express Friday, October 18, 1957, page 6.

Lansdowne Park Development Work. An aerial view of Lansdowne Park, showing development work which the Marlborough Rugby Union has under way. The far ground is being levelled by the Gill Construction Company and will be laid out in three or four grounds. Surplus spoil from this job is being carted through a gap in the stopbank at the extreme left and used to form a spectator bank at the western side of the main ground (indicated by the arrow). The two fields in the foreground will be re-marked slightly to the west of their present position to allow for the new bank.
