Salt For The North Island. Scene of activity on Picton Wharf as the m.v. Turihaua loads 370 tons of Lake Grassmere salt - the biggest single consignment to leave Picton. The salt is to be discharged at Napier, Gisborne, Mt. Manganui and Auckland.
