Paddy Hannan. The late Paddy Hannan, one of New Zealand's best known former professional scullers, and a claimant to the world title, is shown here on the Wairau River in the early 1920's. As well as being a world title claimant, Hannan held the New Zealand professional sculling title six times and the Australasian title four times. He retired as New Zealand champion when he was nearly 45, and last rowed when he was 64.
