Major Project At Tua Marina. Work has been started by the Marlborough Catchment Board on the 20,000 pounds project on reconstructing two miles of stopbanks around the pocket of land between the Wairau and Tua Marina Rivers and the hills. They are to be reconstructed to a height approximately 2ft to 2ft 6in above the level of the present banks and the job will take from six to eight months to complete. The photograph shows a bulldozer working on Mr. J.B. Barnett's property stripping vegetation from the stopbank.
