Washout On State Highway. When an old wooden culvert collapsed on the Blenheim-Nelson State highway near the Okaramio Bridge on Friday it formed a dam which built up a big volume of water and threatened to cut the road. A Bailey Bridge was thrown across the weakened spot and the water released, with results which can be seen in the picture. New pipes are to be laid and the road repaired. |
