New Bridge Taking Shape. The new Wairau Bridge is fast taking shape as the steel girders of the spans at the southern end are positioned. The concrete deck of the first span (seen in the foreground) has already been poured and boxing for the deck of the second span is ready for a second pour next week. Two further sets of girders are in position on the third and fourth spans.
