Description 7 of 8 yellow metal (copper and zinc) fastenings from the Edwin Fox. Six of them are in a specially made wooden holder on the side of the display cabinet. This one is lying on top on the right. It is shaped more like a nail with a sharpened point, but tapered like a chisel.

Rivets are often square and they are used to hold planks together on a wooden ship. They have a a rove-plate which is used like a washer.
