Collection VFM (unaccessioned) General
Description Light blue Ransome crawler model M.G.5 - serial number 4360, engine number MGE1015 - has a 600 cc motor which was made by Sturmey-Archer the firm that makes bicycle gears. This type of crawler is narrow, which means it doesn't get stuck easily and fits comfortably between garden rows. It was very popular in Nelson for use in their market gardens and hop gardens.

Owned by Cecil Price an ex President of the Marlborough Vintage Farm Machinery Society, it was restored by Bob Thoms of Blenheim and purchased by Vintage Farm Machinery Society for (price unknown) from R.D. (Bob) Thoms in 1999.
