Description |
Green, four horse power, petrol, Bamford hopper cooled stationary engine - no serial number - fitted to a motor driven belt which drives the Auddiffren fridge unit [images 3& 4]. Built between 1920 and 1930. The fridge unit and the motor are two separate objects. This is a very early refridgerator and was used to cool a hotel cellar.
The fridge unit has been on permanent loan from from W.G.G. Cuddon Limited, Blenheim since April 1998. The motor was purchased (date not stated) from Ian Le Grice for (price not stated) and restored by him for the Marlborough Vintage Farm Machinery Society Inc. |
