Photographs from the collection of the Marlborough Vintage Farm Machinery Society Inc
The Marlborough Vintage Farm Machinery Society Inc operates from a number of buildings in the Brayshaw Park complex in Blenheim.
The photographs in this exhibit are from what we have loosely described as 'the Ralph Denton' collection, being 5 boxes of colour slides most of which were attributed to Ralph Denton. They represent an eclectic collection of material from the 1960's era, including early photographs of some of the items that are still a feature of the Society, such as 'The Marlborough Engine'.
Other items include farms and rivers around Marlborough - the Branch River, Top House, Omaka Downs, Mount Patriach, Birch Hill, the Wash Bridge, Mount Roberts, the Leatham, Welds Hill, Starborough, Tetley Brook, Lansdowne and Tarndale. There are also slides with the Cooper and Morse marker, the Waihopai Dam, a Railcar on the line at Seddon, and a number of slides of each of the Lake Grassmere Saltworks and the UEB Marlborough Lucerne Meal Factory.
