Description These 35m/m and 55m/m incandescent petroleum vapour burners (the two on the left in image 2), known as Argand Burners, were made by Chance Brothers & company Ltd, near Birmingham. They were used on the original kerosene light from the Brothers Island Lighthouse and continued to be used until September 1976 as standby 1000 candle power. Part of the Brothers Lighthouse collection. Donated by Marine Department, Picton.
