Marlborough Museum holds a near-complete collection of programmes from what was Blenheim Operatic Society's many productions since its formation in 1918 and the first production, The Gondoliers. The Society is now called Blenheim Musical Theatre Inc. It is interesting to see the nuances of casting reflecting the availability of members to participate, in particular the lack of male members during the war years. In addition, the advertisements are as interesting as the more formal content.
This exhibit contains full copies of all programmes held. Each is an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file. Even the smallest will be slow unless you have a broadband connection, but the programmes really are a wonderfully complete history of the Society's productions.
They are organised by year, oldest first. Note there are a few 'ring-ins', being programmes from out-of-town, and some from anniversaries. The Society's website has textual details of the productions, but not the programmes themselves. You can view that material here Blenheim Musical Theatre Inc (opens in a new window) .
You can also see other details of the programmes recorded by the Museum <here>.
