Spittal Collection
From the late 19th century, with growing wealth and leisure time, especially after the introduction of the motor car, amateur photographers added richly to the photographic range, with informality and intimacy of life around them. Robert Spitttal was one such photographer, based in Opouri and Havelock during the timber milling era, 1900 - 1925.
