Abstract 1 x postcard (no date) of Boscombe : Entrance to Drive. Addressed to Corporal J.S. White, Ward 12, Beaufort War Hospital, Fishponds, Bristol (all of that crossed out and substituted with), N.Z. Hospital, Hornchurch, Essex. "10 Wolverton Road, Not having heard, we do hope that all goes well, and you are getting stronger. J - F. T. & M. T."

During WW1 James Spencer White, service number 15058, was with the 14th Reinforcements, Canterbury Infantry, Battalion C Company. Before the war his family lived at Onamalutu and Spen, as he was known, was an engine driver. When he came home from the war he became a Circuit Preacher with The Methodist Church in Marlborough. He married and farmed at Tua Marina where he became known for his cattle breeding.
