Abstract An unused WW1 postcard which has the poem, "The Old Man's Share", by Harold Begbie, on the back, which begins:

"Go with my blessing, lad most sweet;
No thought of me shall hold you back;
Be last in every fiece retreat,
Be first in every swift attack;
Your blood is up to meet the foe;
Braver am I! - I let you go;
Old men, as well, must pay War's price;
Well, here's your father's sacrifice."
