Description A brass hat, cap, or shoulder badge with "ka whawhai ake ake tonu 6th (Waikato) Regt". Has an arm holding a Maori spear between 2 leaves sumounted by a crown. The King Country Chronicle, 6th June 1914 has an article re the 16th regiment and the local cadets meeting in St. Lukes Church to show their new motto and colours. The motto, in English, means, "We will fight on forever and ever".
