Description Small kitbag which contained the belongings of Richard William Mapp who died in World War 1, 1918, aged 21 years. The bag has 58133 Mapp Pte R.W. in black ink on the front. Also has a label in red and blue ink with the following: 58133 Mapp Pte R.W. N/Kin in New Zealand, diary, wallet, money belt, strop, hair brush, lanyard, compass, handkerchief, testament, post cards, photographs, coupons.

When donated it contained : (all now catalogued separately)
1 new Testament;
1 pay book for use on active service;
1 hat band and extra '32' badge;
1 pocket knife;
1 compass on a cord;
1 U.S.A. cent;
1 soldier's diary, containing special military information essential to soldiers on active service;
1 'dog' tag; Deaccessiond by the MHS comittee and to be returned to Owen Mapp November 2010.
1 tag with 138895 I.C.C. inscribed on it; Deaccessiond by the MHS comittee and to be returned to Owen Mapp November 2010.
1 bronze memorial plaque. Deaccessiond by the MHS comittee and to be returned to Owen Mapp November 2010.
