Collection Dundon
Description Next of kin memorial bronze plaque from World War 1, in original envelope and with the accompanying letter, for William Thomas Dundon, killed at Gallipoli. Addressed to Mr. P. Dundon, 49 Bignell Street, Gonville, Wanganui. Letter on cream paper has a red crest and below that, "Buckingham Palace. I join with my grateful people in sending you this memorial of a brave life given for others in the Great War. Signed George Rex." These bronze plaques were issued to the families of all those who lost their lives in World War 1 or who died after the war as a result of war service, up to 1923.
