Description |
2 of 2 World War 1 embroidered cards. Postcard is embroided to look like an envelope. Has "Souvenir from France 1915 - 1916" embroidered on the front. Underneath is a small card with the words, "I'm thinking of you". There is nothing written on the back of it. On the back of the main card it is a postcard:
"In France August 19th 1917 Dear Aunt Just a line to let you know that I am still alive and well and have been having a better time than I expected but I think that there is a rough time coming later on, of course it is not to pleasant now with mud, lice and shells it keeps a man busy at one thing and another but it might be worse. Some of Jack Newmans draft has arrived here as a lot of them has been hit but I haven't seen Jack so far. I don't think he is over here yet and he don't want to be in a hurry to get here either by what I can see of things. Remember me to all and give my love to Grams from your loving Nephew Jack - excuse writing." |
