Description 1 pencil attached to a bullet shell (see 2002.092.0022 for the cigarette tin this pencil came in). The bullet case is engraved, "M", for Princess Mary.

From Phil Beattie 2 August 2007: The Princess Mary 1914 Christmas Gift Tin. Issued in two varieties, smokers and non-smokers, to all British and Commonwealth troops who were in service at Christmas 1914. Originally contained either cigarettes, chocolate or sweets plus a greeting card, bullet pencil and assorted other small 'treats'.


The frame this object is in will be used for display during ANZAC celebrations.
