Description Royal portable typewriter in a black furry case with a brown leather handle. Manufactured by Royal Typewriter Company Inc., New York. Protected by American & Foreign Patents. Made in United States of America. Machine is brown metal made to look like wood. The serial number P171406 is at back left.

Found in bay 64 in the museum storeroom in November 2012.

Royal entered the portable typewriter market in 1926, their first model was produced this year and the second model in 1931 [source: wikipedia.org].
The light oak wood-grain effect was manufactured in 1930 [blogspot.co.nz].
