Picton 2011 : Memorial Plaque 1900-1983 Picton Freezer on this site.
North of this stone was the site of the Picton Freezing Works affectionately known as "Picton University". Built 1900 ceased 1983. Owned and operated by Canterbury Meat Co. Ltd, later known as N.Z. Refrigerating Co. Ltd. Stone laid 12 November 2000 by former workers. |
