Date 1958
Description Woman's lace wedding gown 1958. Off white machine lace in French Chantilly style. The bodice is tight-fitting and features a round neckline. The sleeves are fastened at wrist with six self-covered buttons. It has a metal side zip. The skirt is a full circle which lengthens at the back into a train and has a 36cm peplum at the waist. Under the gown is an off white strapless petticoat with a full circle skirt in taffetta.

Update from Textiles department: Garment made in 1958. It belonged to Beryl Robertson. She made it and her daughter wore it (Jenny Pierson, 14 May 2013).
