Collection MHS (Unaccessioned) Textiles
Description Woman's machine made lace and crepe de chene nightcap. Found in collection in 2010 by Textiles manager, Pam Saunders, with no donor information. This cap is bottom right, left of three, in image 2.

Construction details:
Has a deep lace frill (4.5cm) around the outside edge. Attached to the lace is a 1cm lace insert through which a pink ribbon (1cm) is threaded. The main part of the bedcap is made of crepe de chene - a band (7cm) is gathered into another row of lace (1.5cm) above which is a 12.5cm circle of material. Machine net ground. Scalloped edge.
